Summer Work Travel participant Astrid Noya Cisneros (of Peru) arrived in the US a few weeks ago. She’s living in snowy Maine, the northernmost state in the New England region of the northeastern United States. Maine is famous for its moose and lobsters, along with a scenic coast and lighthouses. Below Astrid (on left) tries lobster for the first time with fellow SWT participant Nataly, also from Peru.
They are both working at Dunkin Donuts and Astrid shares some of her initial feelings about the US below.
“I just have a couple of weeks here in Portland to fall in love with the culture, landscapes, and dishes in United States. This week we learned how to eat Lobster and it was a enthusiastic experience fighting with the lobster until we finally finished eating it. The hot wings and hamburgers were delicious too.”
Astrid is enjoying “the landscapes!! definitely !! The view when I’m going to my work in the runway is beautiful.”
