The U.S. Department of State has organized an opportunity for exchange visitors to volunteer at the Sketchers Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday March 24, 2019.
This is a chance to experience the American value of volunteerism while getting to meet and socialize with other exchange participants from multiple sponsor organizations.
Registration is now open for Mile 16 Water Station (Burton Way starting at Foothill Rd and continuing east).
Volunteers will set-up and distribute Gatorade and water to marathon runners and will clean up after the last runner passes. Volunteers need no prior training, but will need to wear weather appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes. Check-in is at 7:00 a.m. at the water station on San Vicente Blvd., just west of 14thStreet. The shift concludes at 2:00 p.m. (7 hours).
If you are interested in this unique cultural enrichment opportunity, please contact IENA! We will send you instructions for registration.
