So, you’re coming back to camp for your second or third year? Or maybe camp has hired you outside of IENA’s placement program? You might be asking yourself what you should do next. Well, good news! IENA is here to help! Your first step on the journey to your J-1 visa will be to create an application for sponsorship on IENA’s website (Note: all J-1 Camp Counselor visa recipients are required to have a sponsoring agency in the US, that’s where IENA comes in! IENA is a Department of State J-1 Visa Sponsor) To start your IENA application you can go to iena.org and click “apply now” at the top right corner. From there you will click “International Summer Camp Staff Program” and then “IENA’s Direct Placement Program”. From there you can create an account and complete your application!
IENA also wants to help guide you through the application process! IENA sends a weekly informational email to all direct placement and returning applicants in our system. This email goes over all sections of the application and gives detailed instruction on how to fill everything out correctly.
