Maria Vargas (pictured above) is applying from Spain, she is fluent in Both French and English as well as Spanish. I had the pleasure of interviewing Maria, she is very excited for the opportunity to work at a camp this summer. Maria currently attends the University of Valencia and is studying Medicine.
I asked Maria a few questions and wanted to share them, here’s what she had to say:
Why are you looking to come and work at a US Summer Camp?
“I wish to work at a camp for two reasons: I like working with children because our objective is not only to make them have fun but to be a role model and in certain aspects to educate them during those summer months. The other reason is that is a new experience for me in a country like the US so it will help me grow as a person.”
What do you believe you can bring to a summer camp?
“In first place and really important for me: fun. I have done many sports in my life and camping so children can take profit of these activities. Also some organization and leadership , so that the activities can be developed with no problem. And in last place but not less important: try to help them with any homework doubts they have and be a moral support for the children.”
What do you hope to gain from your experience at camp?
“I hope to gain a lot of experience in camping activities , and to improve all the qualities a person needs to be a positive role model . I also hope to gain many new friends and to know more about US and the way they work. Finally but not less important I think I will learn how to work in group and under pressure”
Maria is a great applicant and will be a great asset to any camp. She is currently in our pool of applicants.
Yours in Camping,
Adam
