Summer is just around the corner, and IENA cannot wait for our exchange visitors to arrive to the US and begin their cultural exchange programs! For Summer 2021, exchange visitors should be aware of new travel requirements currently implemented for entry into the US.
Prior to entering the United States, each traveler must demonstrate that they have taken a negative Covid-19 test within 3 days of departure.
This is required for all people entering the United States. You will not be permitted to board your flight in your country without this proof. For more information, read this notice on the US State Department website. We encourage exchange visitors to look for a local testing center now in their area, so they are prepared and can schedule an appointment there closer to departure.
All exchange visitors should communicate with their camp or employer as you schedule and take this Covid-19 test, as they may also require you to show this test result upon arrival into the US. Your director may also require staff to take a Covid-19 test shortly after your arrival into the US.
To make your trip as smooth as possible, please do not forget about this new travel requirement! Be smart, and be safe!
