Najee is from Jamaica and a SWT alum. He’s working at his previous employer, Split Rock Resort in the Poconos, Pennsylvania. As a returner, Najee took the initiative to arrange several events for the 50 exchange visitors working at the resort this summer. The welcome barbecue in the beginning of the summer took place at the lake on the resort’s property, and included food, dancing, ice breaking activities, games, and music.
Najee says “I have learnt a lot these past months. The language and history of the people from countries such as Malaysia and Macedonia.. it’s crazy how things change based on where you are in the world and the restrictions certain people have in their own countries. The laws there and political policies also vary and are similar in some ways. We all can relate to each other in our discussions as well.”
Thanks to Najee for his efforts at building an exchange visitor community at Split Rock this summer!
